These include the Galerie Bab Rouah in Rabat installed in the richly decorated monumental gate of the same name. Four rooms regularly showcase magnificent creations. Still in Rabat , a gallery is located in Bab El Kébir, a gate built in 1150. It is a jewel of Almohad architecture. It comprises three exhibition rooms. In Marrakech, the Galerie Bab Doukala opened in 1989 in one of the main and oldest gates of the medina. It hosts exhibitions of Moroccan and foreign artists. Finally, the Galerie d’El Jadida, covering 200 m2 , built by the Portuguese in 1514, was restored and converted into an art gallery in 2000.
